At Last Nasarawa APC Obeys Court Judgement, Fires Councilor

The Speaker of Doma Local Government, Hon.  Albert Agwabo has sworn in Mustapha amidst jubilation at the legislative arm temporary chamber.

According to the Speaker, “by the power vested on me as the speaker of Doma Local Government Council of Nasarawa State and following the verdict of a court of competent jurisdiction, I sworn in Hon. Mohammed Mustapha, The legislative arm in same vain ceased to recognize the former occupant Hon. Ashafa Liman as a Councilor representing Sarkin Dawaki electoral ward.

Mohammed shortly after his inauguration as the elected Councilor of Sarkin Dawaki Ward hails the State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for standing firm for the truth.

He however extends his happiness over the verdict of the courts despite the delay to the State Chapter of the APC under the hardship of Hon. John Mamman, Chairman, and Aliyu Bello Secretary of the party

He also thanked his teeming supporters for standing solidly behind him, especially during his trials at the court.

Giving the assurance that he will be a servant to the people of Sarkin Dawaki electoral ward of Doma Local Government, adding that he will bring his wealth of experience as a former Supervisory Councilor to effect changes for his people.

Mustapha says he will work for the best interest of the party at all times.

It could be recalled that the APC denied the legitimate participant in the party primaries for the Councillorship of Sarkin Dawaki electoral wards of Doma by handing over a fresh certificate of primary election to Hon. Ashafa whose victory was given to the rightful winner.

Recalled that the lower court in Nasarawa passes judgment in favor of Mohammed Mustapha but was denied the seat as well the party challenges the judgment of the High Court sitting in Lafia by approaching an appeal court sitting in Makurdi challenging his stolen mandate.

The party and number two citizen of the State was alleged supported the Councilor as compensation to his family.

The matter it was learned has reached the apex court whose judgment is in support of Hon. Mohammed Mustapha, whom the party has expelled as a card-carrying member of the ruling party The All Progressives Congress.

The High Court 4 sitting in Lafia passes a judgment in favor of Hon.  Mustapha in December 2022 directing the party to declare him the winner of the party primaries and main election but to no avail, not until the interference of the State Governor on the matter.
