Arrest Me If You Can, Asari Dares Authorities

The Niger Delta activist and leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force NDPVF, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has dismissed calls for his arrest by the House of Representatives over the comment he made on Monday that peace will elude Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan is not returned in 2015.
He challenged anybody to come forward to arrest him even as the former governor of old Anambra state, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has said that that such arrests should start with people who had made similar comments in the past.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Dokubo withdraw his statement, insisting that he stands by his words that there will be no peace in the country if Jonathan is not re-elected for a second term in 2015.

“I stand by my statement which I made in my early press conference, there will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta, but everywhere, if Goodluck Jonathan is not president by 2015, and I want to add that the Fulanis, who migrated and invaded our lands and continue to show disregard and disrespect to the owners of the country they came into, and people have tolerated them for a very long time will no longer continue.” He said.

Asari, a former President of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, also said that his arrest will mark the end of Nigeria stressing that failure to eventually carry out the threat of his arrest will portray the authorities as cowardly.
