- Task youths to shun social vices, campaign against cluster bomb blast in Jos
The coordinator Plateau state branch of vigilante group of Nigeria , Mr Itumu Yakubu has decried that, thuggery ,killings and violence by the notorious Boko Haram sect which has been become routine activities in Plateau may soon become a thing of the Past as the vigilante group of Nigeria has organized campaign awareness end the menace.
Yakubu tasked youths to shun social vices that are capable of destroying the future of Nigeria.
He disclosed this during their interactive session with vigilantes and security agencies at Bishops court, Jos North Local Government Area.
Yakubu stressed that they have uncover some strategic area by Boko Haram to wreck havoc to the state so we are calling on Plateau state to ensure the safety of lives and property of citizens.
He promised surveillance on worship centres within the state capital to prevent incessant attack and killings of innocent civilians.
“We are seeking the support and cooperation of Plateau state government toward bringing incessant attack under control with help of community policing and use of vehicles to ease transportation problem”.
According to him, we have been examining the incessant killings and economic destruction in Jos North for over 15 years.
Yakubu described Plateau state as the most peaceful which accommodated all diverse tribes within and outside the country for its beautiful weather that attract tourists but we live in fear, suspicion and hatred now .
He gave alert by the Federal troops known as Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) of the presence of Boko Haram members in the city.
Yakubu said Boko Haram are planning to detonate bombs through suicide bombers or car bomb at crowded places like markets, relaxation centers, motor parks and schools.
He called on citizens of the state to be security conscious and tighten security around public places.
The city of Jos had witnessed several cases of multiple bomb explosions in recent past, including car bombs, suicide bombing and throwing of grenades, which led to the deaths of hundreds of residents, he added

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Vigilante in Jos North Mr Bitrus Danjuma has decried that since the time of Boko Haram blast they have working in partnership with security agencies but there has not support or motivation.
We are calling on state government to introduce some allowances to our members to encourage them work hard towards bringing permanent peace.
Yakubu employed government to engage the youth on meaningful program by creating skill acquisitions or vocational training to irate youths to keep them busy.
He noted that Red Cross society trained its members on the issue of first aid to victims of bomb explosion, motor accident as an urgent need before rushing people to hospital.
We appealing to the wife of Governor Simon Lalong to create youth training centres to engage them on useful venture.
