Archbishop Kaigama Condemns Diversion Of Foods Meant For IDPs

The Catholics Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev.  Ignatius Kaigama has condemned the diversion of foods meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in North East.

He said a 10 man committee has been set up to find solution to the lingering crisis and   unravel the remote causes of internal conflict and mayhem.

He expressed worry with the spate of conflict that has claim the lives of innocent citizens in recent time which affected the cooperate existence.

The Archbishop of Jos  disclosed this at the 14th  General Assembly of the Diocese held at St Louis college in Jos north LGA.

Kaigama called on the government to address the issue of hunger in the country as the people are dying with high rate of poverty in the land.

Kaigama lamented the high level of corruption which is cut across all the strata of the economy, as he urged the federal and state government to provide the people with basic amenities to achieve their potentials, and be self- reliance.

He appealed to government to introduce insurance scheme to people above 60 years of age and provide food shelter, medical to reduce their suffering in Nigeria.

He regretted the way and manner people have abandoned the work of God as very worrisome as he added that poverty has pushed many families into committing all sorts of evil things to earn a living.

According to him people has to lies as far as stealing the food meant for the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) in crisis prune north east.

He tasked Catholic Church members to emulate the teaching of the Holy Bible and imbibe the fear of God in their daily conduct to avoid those little things that may lead them to commit sin.
