Appointment Of Sole Administrators: Court Adjourned To June 1 2016 For Adoption Of Written Addresses

The ongoing legal battle between the Government of Nasarawa state and the Independent Democrate (I.D) which came up for hearing on the 10/05/2016 was adjourned to 1st June 2016 for adoption of written addresses.

The presiding judge of high sitting in Keffi Hon. Justice S .A Ayiwulu while delivering his ruling obliged an adjournment to 01/06/2016 to enable parties file their relevant processes. .

The suit filed by Barr. Haruna S. Ilyasu Favour & 1 other Versus the Government of Nasarawa state &13 others challenging the appointment of sole Administrators in the state has suffered a setback following the objection raised by the counsel to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly by D. C Rikko Esq sort for adjournment.

Counsel to the plaintiffs T. M Ozioko who appeared with Y. U Ibrahim Esq., E. Onuh Esq. (Mrs). and Kaase, S.C Esq. Vehemently opposed the later for an adjournment on the ground that the letter is defective as it does not bear the seal of counsel in line with Order 10 of the Rules of professional conduct for legal practitioners.

Counsel for the 1st & 2nd Defendants, Ishaku Usman, the state solicitor general/ permanent Secretary Min. Of Justice who appeared with Alhassan Sabo on the other hand moved his application for extension of time within which to file his counter affidavit and written address in support.

The application was granted as prayed as no objection was raised.

Counsel for the 4th- 14th Defendants, S. K Sheltu Esq. Who appeared with Ngozi E. O Esq. (Mrs). also asked for an adjournment to enable him file his counter affidavit and a notice of preliminary objection. This application was opposed to by the plaintiffs counsel.
