APGA Governorship Candidate Condemns Demolition Of Breeze FM

The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance,Labaran Maku has condemned the demolition of the only private radio station,Breeze The former minister of Information and the current Scribe of APGA gave the condemnation on Monday in an interview with Newsmen in Lafia,stating that the demolition is an affront on the media.
He further described incident as an abberation to the tenet of democracy by suppressing the press,he however said the press have the freedom to operate freely backup by the law, nobody should try to suppress the media.
“The demolition of a private station by the government is a fight against the freedom of information act in the country”.
He challenged the Nigeria Union of Journalists have to rise up against this impunity and protect their members else the worse is yet to happen,adding that is barbaric to destroy the first private radio station.
Maku explained that it is the governor himself who commissioned the station on 31st March,2017.
“So why will the same government demolished the same station they commissioned after two months.
“Was he not aware of the location of the radio station before he commissioned it.,” he added.
He therefore said the the flimsy excuse that the station was operating under a private residence should have been resolved amicably.
Similarly The proprietor FM, Nawani Aboki said that action of the government is highly questionable because what the government seems to
stand on for carrying out the demolition is laughable.
Aboki however threatened to take a legal action against the government and stated that the station will come out stronger and vibrant.
