Kano State All Progressives Congress is set to suspend former Governor of Kano and Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for alleged misdemeanours and political scheme to smear the image of Governor Ganduje during his recent visit to Kano.

The former Kano Governor is also being accused of misconduct and attempt to undermine President Muhammadu Buhari  when paid a condolence visit Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Monday.

While addressing newsmen on Thursday, The State APC Chairman Haruna Umar Doguwa, and the acting Chairman of elders committee Audu Kirare, said;  “As you have all witnessed, quite a number of high and mighty across the width and breadth of Nigeria came to Kano and condoled with the Governor over the loss of his mother.

“The only unfortunate incident was the visit of the immediate past governor, Senator Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso. What specifically made the visit a misdemeanour to our party’s spirit of discipline and brotherhood was the fact that the visit was purely political as against the mission of condolence.

“We wish to state unequivocally that the leadership of the party was not officially informed about the intention of the senator to pay a condolence visit to the bereaved governor, let alone the display of seemingly presidential campaign slogans and chanting of hatred and vituperations against Governor Ganduje.”

Speaking he said Kwankwaso had showed; “acts of indiscipline which should not be allowed to go unpunished”.

“The party and its leadership hierarchy, as enshrined in APC constitution, must be respected at all times by party members in respective of their position. The party leader today in Kano is nobody but Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, who also must be respected by every person. The party would leave no stone unturned in ensuring discipline, orderliness and loyalty as prescribed by the constitution of the APC,” he said.

“Such case of party indiscipline committed by Senator Kwankwaso will be thoroughly investigated and dealt with in accordance with the constitution of the party,” Doguwa said.

According to he said that Kwankwaso hired crowd; “When the hired crowd was denied access to the airport premises, they climbed over fences, breaking the iron barriers and destroying the Security scanners. All the pictures are available for confirmation.

“Also, the hired thugs were busy distributing presidential campaign posters, car stickers reading ‘Kwankwassiya 2019, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for President, among others.”

“During the senator’s visit, there was a violent rally and open show of thuggery as his supporters were seen openly wielding machetes, swords and other dangerous weapons,” he stated.
