The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State says it remains committed to ensuring that women are carried along in governance across the state.
Rising from its State Working Committee (SWC) meeting in Jos the party said in that regards it has endorsed the inclusion of women to play critical developmental roles starting from across the 17 LGAs.
A statement issued by State Chairman of the APC Hon Letep Dabang said the State Working Committee has resolved that in other to ensure gender sensitiveness women must be considered for appointments into the recently elected Local Government Administrations in the state.
According to Letep Dabang,it was resolved that not less than two women must be appointed as Supervisory Councilors and Special Advisers in each of the Local Governments across the state.
The statement quotes the APC Chairman as saying,the women through their patience as mothers will greatly reflect positively if involved in governance of which can be seen in this administrations drive towards women inclusion across board.
It also states that to drive down and ensure this position is adhered to,the State working Committee will meet with the newly elected Local Government Chairmen next week to ensure this as well as other means of driving down the policies and programs of the APC at the grass roots are followed.
The State Working Committee according to Letep Dabang then commended Governor simon Lalong for ensuring the resumption of construction projects across the state asking citizens to support the initiative.
