APC Northeast Youth Leaders Back Mai Mala Buni

The North East Youth, Women, and People Living with Disabilities have thrown their weight support behind the  APC National Caretaker Committee under the leadership of Mai Mala Buni the Executive Governor of Yobe State.

 

The youth leaders disclosed this in a communiqué at the end of its stakeholders’ meeting held  Monday in Bauchi

 

The chairman of the youth leaders in the North East Adamu Musa Abubakar while briefing newsmen said that the body unanimously passed a vote of confidence to the led Caretaker Committee Chairman Mai Mala Buni considering his numerous achievements brought to the party since his inception as the Chairman of the party.

 

Saying that “Under his leadership, he was able attracted prominent opposition People Democratic Party (PDP), to the party, including three governors, eight senators and the twenty-three House of Representatives among others.

 

The body also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for treating and according to the northeast zone with special attention and consideration with regards to security, economy, and social development.

 

The group also requested some demands which include additional funding to North East Development Commission (NEDC), the appointment of its illustrious sons and daughters into critical and special offices, improving on the fight against Boko Haram and other forms of security challenges hitherto and bedeviling the zone, commitment to oil and gas exploration in Kalmani and other frontiers in Bauchi and Gombe state as well as a commitment to the actualization of Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project in Taraba State.

 

Other requests by the group also include the implementation of the Eastern Corridor Railway Project from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri and more inclusion of APC youth, women, and PWDs into the affairs of government.

 

The group also called on the youths in the zone not to allow themselves to be engaged in bad groups, noting that the youths constituted 163.8% of the Nigerian population advised them to key into several federal government programs to help in building the nation.
