APC Convention: Ngoforo Appointed Into Planning Committee, Commends Gov Uzodimma

Oluwadare Adekunle

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mazi Franklin Ngoforo, has been appointed into the Planning Committee for the party’s 2026 National Convention scheduled to hold on March 27th and 28th. His inclusion was announced in a newly released list signed by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, who serves as Secretary of the Convention Planning Committee.

Ngoforo has been assigned to serve in the subcommittee responsible for the Accreditation of Diplomats, Diaspora, and Observer Groups, a critical unit tasked with coordinating the participation of international and diaspora stakeholders at the convention. The assignment underscores the importance of ensuring transparency, inclusiveness, and global engagement in the party’s national gathering.

The APC National Convention is expected to take place at the Eagle Square in Abuja, where preparations are already underway. During a recent inspection visit to the venue, Ngoforo expressed satisfaction with the level of arrangements being put in place, noting that the event would reflect the party’s organizational strength and national appeal.

Ngoforo, who hails from Arondizuogu in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, also used the opportunity to commend the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for his efforts in strengthening the APC in the state. He highlighted the governor’s role in fostering unity within the party and positioning it for electoral success.

He further expressed confidence that the APC, under its current leadership, would not only secure victory in future elections but also continue to deliver good governance to Nigerians. Ngoforo reaffirmed his commitment to contributing effectively to the success of the convention and the broader objectives of the party.

Party stakeholders have described Ngoforo’s appointment as well-deserved, citing his experience and dedication to party affairs at both local, the state and national levels. They expressed optimism that his role in the accreditation subcommittee would enhance the credibility and smooth conduct of the convention, particularly in managing relations with diplomats, diaspora representatives, and observer groups expected to attend the event.
