APC Chieftain Accused Governor Al-Makura Of Failing Gen Buhari In Nasarawa State By Rabiu Omaku,Lafia


The former military governor of Kwara state, retired General Ahmed Aboki has accused the Nasarawa state Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has the root cause of of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari defeat at the presidential election in the state at the last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
The former National chairman of the party, North-central gave the affirmation in a telephone interview with our reporter, The party stalwart from Nasarawa West senatorial zone, Gen. Ahmed Aboki affirmed that governor Al-Makura deliberately planned the failure of Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential poll.
He also alleged that the state governor out-rightly declined to engage people who worked hard for his victory in 2011 in the then (CPC) instead handpicked people with less political value, The chieftain said it is quite unfortunate that Nasarawa state which is an APC state in the North central zone of the country could not deliver the party’s presidential candidate, Gen. Buhari.
He, however, assured the public that despite the failure of the party to deliver its president candidate, 90 percent of the lawmakers to be elected into the state house of assembly would be APC candidate.
Gen. Aboki further used the medium to urge all APC supporters in the state to take wise decision through voting a credible candidate who would ameliorate the plight of the people state.
The former national vice chairman, North Central of the party flayed governor Al-Makura of imposition of people of Nasarawa state through awarding contracts to himself instead of other people or some firms.
The former Gen. Ahmed Aboki who expressed optimistic that the president-elect gen. Muhammadu Buhari would ensure discipline and good governance, said his victory at the polls is a sign of positive change.
Calling on the national headquarters of the party to call governor Al-Makura to order; otherwise the party would face strong challenge during the governorship elections.
Reacting to the allegations leveled against governor Al-Makura, the state chairman of APC, Mr. Philip Shekwor who debunked the allegations attributed the failure of president-elect Gen. Muhammadu during the Saturday’s presidential election to religion and tribal sentiment, adding that the president-elect was being misrepresented to the electorates.
“There campaigns of using religion device and all these things were working against the party and the president-elect in the state,” he added. So for everybody to come that the governor worked against Buhari’s success was most mischievous thing that could ever be done.
‘’He said it was because he has grudges with governor Al-Makura was why he has been going about telling people that the governor masterminded the failure of the Gen. Buhari at the Saturday’s presidential election in the state’’Said the state party chairman.
