Anas Adamu, Others Dump APC For SDP In Jigawa

Dissatisfied with the way and manner Governor Badaru Abubakar is piloting the affairs of his administration in the last three years; APC members in their hundreds have quitted the party to Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Hon Abba Anas Adamu who emerged as the party chairman in the state said the decision of the decampees was sequel to the failure of the present APC leadership in the state to carry everybody alone. “We have parked our belongings to SDP as an alternative to us ahead of 2019″.

According to Abba Anas disclosed that time has come for every thinking and progressive Jigawa citizens to join hands and be part of this journey to salvage the state from imminent collapse, saying the just concluded ward and local government congresses have only favoured those loyal to the governor and the party.

It was gathered that the decampees are part of the 370,000 PDP decampees to APC shortly after the general elections in December, 2015 for what they described as betrayal of trust by the then ruling PDP.

Abba Anas a former member House of Representatives explained that SDP will capture power come 2019 from APC, added that a lot of prominent politicians whom were not satisfied with Badaru’s style of governance will soon join the party.

It was gathered that prominent among the decampees include the longest serving federal law maker, Hon Bashir Adamu, former Jigawa speaker, Hon. Abdu Dauda, some local  government chairmen, members of the state and national assemblies among others.

The new SDP chairman assured that the party will soon receive prominent politicians across walk of lives that were not comfortable with the scenario in APC”.

“Members of the APC at both states and national level are willing to join us; very soon you will agree with my statement, time will tell, APC will be a history”. He stressed.

Contacted, the special assistant to the governor on media and publicity, Bello M. Zaki said their reasons was the same reasons they gave when they decamped to APC from PDP, describing the decampees as buffalo soldiers whom their expectations was to be given appointment and juicy contacts when they joined APC.

He pointed out that government has already lost hope and confidence on the decampees as it has expected their recent action. “Government has wishes them well where ever they are going.” He added.
