Al-Makura’s Ongoing Screening Exercise, Table Payment A Crook Method To Defraud State And Civil Servants-Maku

Former Minister of Information and Guber aspirant for APGA at the 2015 Guber election in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku has described the ongoing screening exercise and table payment as a crook method to defraud the state and its civil servants.

The ex-minister said the presence of the anti-graft agency in the state necessitated the forceful signing of vouchers by workers while their salaries are yet to be paid.

The signing of vouchers was initiated to cover some shabby deals and the whereabouts of monies accrued to the state as salaries

“Nasarawa State is amongst the eleven states that were interdicted by the President”.

“Nasarawa collected huge amount as bailout and Paris refund to pay salary arrears, clear pension, and gratuity but is a complete tales by moonlight”.

He said the action of the governor necessitated the visit of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission to the state.

He blamed the leadership of the Organized Labour for the unfavorable atmosphere for civil servants.

“This not the first time or second time that workers are undergoing data capture or biometric exercise but no results”.

It would be recalled that the government of Nasarawa state has conducted series of biometric and data capture screwing exercise.

Available record unveiled that 1,600 ghost workers were discovered by Skye bank.

While complaints continued to trail the last screening exercise conducted at the Local Government level as it was marred by omission and irregularities as active civil servants were listed as dead workers.
