Sky were let loose along Shendam road Lafia as sympathizers and family members resisted the demolition of Breeze F.M 99.9 ,a private owned radio station based in the state capital.

The demolition exercise was resisted with stiff opposition by the mammoth crowd as mobile police deployed to the scene continued to shoot canister to disperse the crowd.

The Executive Director of the private radio state, Nawani Aboki in an interview described the demolition as intimidation and witch hunt metted on him.

“Due process was not followed in the demolition exercise, he added.

When asked whether he gives wider publicity to the Organized Labour over the ongoing strike by workers in the state,Aboki attested that the station was established with the sole aimed of serving the entire populace.

“The Organized Labour is patronizing us not even during the strike, and for the state government they have never come to us for publicity and we turn them down, as a media outfit we are out to publicize the broad-spectrum populace”.

Aboki said he was given short notice just on Friday (yesterday) for the demolition, when asked on the aspiration of the state governor to vie for senate seat 2019,Nawani Aboki ,a staunch member of the People’s Democratic Party said he wish the governor well.

The Managing Director of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board, Suleimam would not be reached for comment.
