Al-Makura Approves N160 million Gratuity For Deceased Local Government Pensioners

Nasarawa state governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has approved the sum of N160 Million as benefits for deceased local government pensioners, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Honorable Haruna Osegba has stated.

The commissioner hinted this during a press briefing at the end of January Joint Account Committee of third tier of government, the commissioner while fielding questions said the N160m was to settle gratuity of dead pensioners.

Speaking on the unabated percentage payment to staffers of local government, Honorable Osegba gave the assurance that local government civil servants would soon exit percentage payment.

“With the increase in January allocation there was a marginal increase of N32m and I’m hopeful that the local government would continue to witness a marginal increase in salary”.

“What we got in December 2016 was N864,563,265m but January allocation to be share in February is N896,899,960m, he in addition stated local government would have a sly increase in there’s.

With the N32m any local government under the category of Seventy percent will now collect 72% while those under sixty percent will get 62 percent, fifty percent will get 52 percent and forty percent will 42 respectively.

Speaking on the ongoing construction of culverts and drainage by the Interim Management Committee of local government would be completed soon.
