Again Cholera Breaks Out In Nasarawa State

Barely a month after the outbreak of cholera in Shege community of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, there was a reported case of renewed outbreak in Umasha community of the State.

Information from unofficial source revealed that no life was lost in the recent outbreak.

Feelers unfolded that scores died in Shege following the outbreak of cholera,

Shuabu in a telephone conversation attributed the outbreak to unhygienic drinking water, as he added that no frantic effort was made by government to avert the situation.

The state Commissioner for Health, Daniel Iya could not be reached for comment, rather the Public Relation Officer of the ministry buttressed that holistic measures to nip the outbreak in the bud has been taken.

He said drugs have been distributed to Primary Health Care within the axis of the cholera prone community.

He however asserted that the ministry of health has embarked on a sensitization campaign to nooks and crannies of the affected communities.
