Adamawa Senator, Sen. Jibrila Kicks Emergency Rule Extension In Three Northern States

The Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Bindawa Jibirilla who also represents Adamawa North Senatorial District, has kicked against the approval by the Senate to extend the state of emergency in Adamawa State.

Speaking in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa Service in Yola, Adamawa State, said; “Our committee has started appraising the security situation in the three affected states and has so far visited Yobe and Borno states but has not yet visited Adamawa when we learnt that the Senate has approved the extension of the emergency rule.
According to him he said;“I am totally not in support of the position taken by the Senate as it is against the position of my constituency,” he said.
According to Senate Jibrilla he said that there has been  normalcy in Adamawa State as he said it is only few local governments that are  now facing security challenges.
