The lingering leadership tussle bedeviling the Adamawa state medical and health workers union has taken a new dimension as a splinter group led by one of the chairmanship contestant in the botched state exco Election, Mr.Dahiru Hassan has declared that,the union has no state executives yet.
Hassan made the declaration at a press conference in Yola on Wednesday, insisting that the claim by the Jerry Ngyakwar faction that they remain the elected leaders of the Association as nothing more than a wishful thinking, noting that at his instance upper Area court 3 Yola has issued an injunction order which automatically stopped and declared any action taken as null,void and of no effect what so ever.
He added that,the continued parading themselves as leaders remain illegal and unconstitutional urging the members and public to ignore any action from Jerry’s group pending the determination of the case by the court.
“We are therefore calling on all respecters of law and order and Adamawa State Government, including workers of primary Health care to disregard the utterances of Jerry and his team because they are operating illegally,so their actions be regarded as unconstitutional pending determination of our case by the court of law”.Hassan declared.
On the 14 day ultimatum given to the state Government to meet the union’s demands of full implementation of CONHESS salary scale,issues of pending staff promotions and staff posting and re- posting of ward focal personnel, he replied that,all hands are on deck to consolidate them amicably.
Reacting to the development,the Embattled chairman of the workers union in the state,Mr.Jerry Ngyakwar said he and his elected team remain the authentic leaders of the Association in the state claiming that no such court order was ever communicated his person or the Executives at any point in time.
Ngyakwar accused Mr.Hassan and his group of working against the interest of the union vowing to sanction them accordingly so as to serve as a deterrent to others
