The political squabbling in the Adamawa state wing of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP is yet to settle despite the visit of the president and leader of the party Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the state since the grouse that generated after the impunity that led to the imposition of candidates at all levels.
Investigation further revealed that Adamawa state PDP is yet to come to terms as one united block after the lifting of the suspension placed on sons of the state like the former National Chairman of the party Alh. Dr. Bamanga Tukur, Chief Joel Hamanjoda Madaki, the former state secretary, Barrister AT Shehu.
The grouse this time around is the Christian factor in the state PDP which is demanding the removal of the imposed names for the gubernatorial candidate to be replaced with that of a seasoned politician and legal luminary in the person of Barrister Jerry  Kumdisi.
The position of these people is that after the Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako tenure of seven years the Christians should naturally lead the state just like they waited in the wings until the completion of the term of a fellow Fulani man Nyako who should not be succeeded by another Fulani man Nuhu Ribadu.
Be that as it may their arguments may be tenable but what remains to be known is the unyielding posture of the presidency to disregard the large Christian community in Adamawa state and that of the minorities who constitute a gigantic voting percentage of the state going by the 2011 general elections as a case study.
The chances of the PDP in Adamawa state still remained bleached as we count down just a month to the general elections this is manifested by the way  bigwigs of the party have been bolting out to other parties to form a formidable opposition against PDP and its victory in Adamawa.
Notable among them are Engr Markus Gundiri, Navy Commander Bodes, Alh. Abubakar Kari Abdulahi, Hon Awwal AD. Tukur, two serving members of the national Assembly Engr. Aishatu Dahiru Binani and Engr Anthony Madwatte, the deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Kwamoti Laori, alongside with many serving house of Assembly members, the former Executive secretary of UBEC Dr. Ahmed M. Modibbo. Sen. Prof Andrawus Tarfa one of the elders of the party has left to the SDP. Sen Halilu Girei has also gone into oblivion.
The aspirants that contributed to building the party but have been ditched by the PDP along with their huge followers are Gen Aliyu Kama, Hon Awwal Tukur, Dr. Ahmed Modibbo, Prof Andrawus Sawa, incumbent Gov Bala Nggilari, Sen Abubakar Halilu Girei, Hon Barrister Jerry Kumdisi, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, and former special Adviser to the president Barrister. AA Gulak with hundreds of senatorial, Reps and House of Assembly aspirants were disenfranchised by the PDP impunity now the party is barely grappling to make an impact in Adamawa state.
Another dangerous development is the political coup under Barrister Bala James Nggilari as many of the serving Local Government Chairmen are using state funds to fund many of the opposition parties to the detriment of the PDP and its victory in the next month elections.
Another baffling aspect is that some of the heavy politicians who are said to be loyal to the PDP have however remained dormant refusing to attend state PDP functions or contribute their resources or their supporters to ginger and galvanized the work of the PDP in Adamawa state.
Those you can describe them as resourceful people in the party are staying aloof unperturbed by the many struggles the party is going through. People like the immediate past Acting Governor Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was the major beneficiary of the Murtala Nyako impeachment largesse who also presided over the government for three months as since refused to identify with the party in terms of committing his resources to run the party.
Observers said he is also waiting in the wings to benefit from the appeal court judgement between him and Barrister Bala James Nggilari which he believed that the presidency will swing the case to his favour.
The endorsement of Jerry Kumdisi by many heavy weight politicians in Adamawa state is on the premise that he will galvanize the party to victory if fairness is done because they see the coming of Mall Nuhu Ribadu as the child of impunity with subterfuge planted by Abuja henchmen to siphon the funds of Adamawa state when he comes to power.
Political pundits said that even among the other nine aspirants that were jilted by the godfather of impunity in Abuja through a cancerous and kangaroo primaries,  Kumdisi has a clean record of been a moderate and an experienced legislator for three terms in the Adamawa state House of Assembly

He is not known to be a money bag yet the people’s love for him is genuine because he simply a grassroots man who believe in personal persuasion.
