Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Kaletupwa Farauta, has visited the Medium Custodial Centre Numan, where she inspected water facilities she donated to improve the health and hygiene of the inmates serving various jail terms at the centre.
Addressing the inmates during her visit, Farauta charged them to be good ambassadors of the correctional center as they reintegrate into their communities and society after their release.
She added that the donation of the solar power panels is to ease water constraints faced by the inmates.
“You’re being here, I believe, is by accident.
“The attitudinal change you have learned here should remain a priority as you return home after serving your various jail terms
“Ensure your life is different, do not allow yourselves to return to this place again, whenever you are freed.”
“Who knows, maybe we could have Governors, Senators amongst you, after you are freed,” she advised
Speaking on behalf of Adamawa Comptroller Prisons, Anthony Sanda DCP, the officer in charge of the Numan custodial centre, thanked the Deputy Governor for the visit and support to the custodial centre
Sanda however, said the Numan custodial centre, which has a capacity of 600 inmates, has a steady water supply for the day-to-day washing and drinking of the inmates at the centre.
