The head corporate communication of the Abuja Electricity Distribution company, Oyebode Babs Fadepe has tasked practicing Journalists in Nasarawa State to imbibe by the code of Journalism profession.

He said balancing of reports should be the key foundation of a reporter, Oyebode buttressed that a truth Journalism is a nation speaking to itself.

The head of corporate communication stated this during a courtesy visit by the Correspondents ‘ Chapel, he says the Abuja Electricity Distribution company would organize a workshop for practicing Journalists by 2018.

He says the workshop was meant to equip practitioners with the current trends of news reporting and writing, stressing that the press ought a mandate for the Nigerian masses.

Oyebode commended the Correspondents’ Chapel for the cordial relationship, saying it is only the media that can educate customers on the need to pay for energy consumed.

The head of corporate communication averred that the AEDC has numerous challenges ranging from metering, stating that metering is a fundamental issue in power distribution

Oyebode Babs Fadepe hinted that the hiccups of metering are not an obstacle that would be address easily; he affirmed that arrangements are on the pipeline for the distribution of prepaid meters.

Other nagging challenges according to him also includes lack of willingness to pay light bill, estimated billing are serious huddles that undermine electricity distribution.
