Concerned Wase People have cried out over the nine-kilometer road linking the home of Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Idris Wase as the road is said to have become a death trap. Speaking to this medium, one of the citizens stated that there is no single day that will come and go without hearing bad news of an accident on the said road.

“We have sampled the views and opinions of most of the people in Bashar axis (road users) and have bitterly complained about the poor nature of the road and its continuous neglect which had reached to the extent that some of them are doubting whether it’s true that the road was awarded by the federal government of Nigeria or is it just for political gainsaying.”

“In fact, no one can say that from the continuous neglect of the road and from the look of things, that there is no element of deceit in it, just like the way it was done before now,” another resident said.

Speaking further he said; “One will be amazed by the number of lives that are being consumed every day on this road through accident. As we all know, that we are in the harmattan season, where the road is often covered by massive dust which thus became dangerous for the said road users.”

Universal Reporters was told that the blame is totally on the government of the day, even as they said their son (the Deputy speaker)  is good at making promises that are not kept, despite the fact he has President, Governor, Local Government Chairman, state house of Assemblymember and indeed himself.

The residents narrated that the complaint he was making before now was that: “I will not be able to bring any project to my people because, I am from the opposition, so if you want me to bring more and more projects, you should all vote for APC from top to bottom”. The question is that, is he still in the opposition?

“Infact, it is only a wild assumption to even allow it to cross our minds that the kind of excuses that are coming from someone who has been in the national assembly for almost getting to two decades and one of the principal officers from 2015 to date and has failed to construct only 9kilometres road but has seen in other places outside his constituency constructing more than 20 kilometers road while his home town is battling with dust. When we talk, they will say he is a National leader. “

The resident continued as he said; “I often used to compare him with Rt  Hon. Babayo Yusuf Gagdi, a non-principal officer and first termer. Gagdi as a first-timer constructed good and tarred roads in Dengi the headquarters of Kanam LGC with drainages and he is representing three local government areas Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam (PKK).

“In response to his status of being a national icon, we saw the antecedents of the Speaker of the 8th Assembly whose constituency is a stone throw from us.

But go to Bahar and see the road without drainages and the only good things in Bashar are his mansion and REKNA’S PALACE. Do we continue like this?”

Finally, We are urging the Deputy speaker that, if really the road was awarded for construction by the government of the day, to follow it up and make sure it is done not even to Karim Lamido, let it be Jarmai to Bashar Kawai in order to bring an end to these kinds of accidents that is consuming the lives of many innocent souls and made many people physically and mentally deformed.
