The factional Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau state Hon Ishaya Itse has disclosed that they boycotted Hon Rufus Bature, Governor Simon Bako Lalong because they risk losing the party membership if they fail to follow the party guidelines for the conduct of Wards, LGAs and State congresses.

He stated that time for impunity, imposition of candidates is gone, “we are the authentic elected Exco of APC in Plateau state, any group parading themselves as the leadership is fake as such group or group didn’t adhere to party laid down a rule for active participation in the exercise.

Itse warned that   Hon. Rufus Bature faction of the party for Plateau state chapter are impersonators who are parading themselves as the Executives of the party following the “Kangaroo” Congress held at the Crest Hotel 16th October 2021.

He called on the party National body to beam its searchlight of recognition to Hon. Ishaya led Excos in Plateau state and disregard Hon. Rufus Biture led the group parading themselves as the chairman and executives apart from our authentic executives.

Hon.Itse stated this in an interview with journalists at their New faction APC office located in  Kalwa House along Bukuru Road in Jos, Plateau state capital.

Hon. Ishaya flanked by other members of his executives said he remain the authentic chairman of APC in Plateau state, as he added, “Because I fulfilled the party’s guidelines from the national to the state level.

The guideline of the APC clearly stated that before you contest for the position of the party chairman and any other elected position of the party; you have to purchase a nomination form.

“I fulfilled the party guideline as spelled out on the Party’s constitution and obtained the nomination form, for that reason, there was a committee from the national headquarters that came to Jos.

I went to the acting chairman’s office to purchase my nomination form after bank payment, I was told that all the nomination forms were at the Government House Little Rayfield.

As against this backdrop, I have follow the party chairman gradually till I was able to obtain the nomination form with all my members that are here now, you can see them here we all obtained the nomination form for different positions ranging from the Women Leader, Treasurer, PRO, Secretary and other positions.

He further explained that for the election for the Congress which is earlier slated for 10 am on Saturday 16th Oct 2021,” we were at the venue at crest hotel, and we were made to understand that they have  postponed the Congress from 10 am to 4 pm without prior notice to the aspirants.”

“Before 4 pm, we were at the venue again and we waited for the Committee saddled with the responsibility for conducting the election till 10 pm before they eventually came to the venue.”

“They couldn’t spend one hour and they reel out some names purported to be the New elected party executives, infact, there was no election there.”

“We were the only candidate that purchased nomination form without anybody contesting with us, Nanman  Maimagani maintained.”

He said the reason why they rejected the election is that “as I said earlier, we were at the election venue  by 10 am the earlier official  fixed time for the Congresses, we were greeted by the information that the time has been shifted to 4 pm without recourse to communicating the aspirants, we waited for the Committee, they were nowhere to be found.”

“When the Committee eventually came to the venue, there was no casting of votes, we are the only aspirants that purchased nomination form which automatically makes us unopposed, and so we emerged as there was nobody contesting with us.”

The APC  Factional group executives are Hon Ishaya  Itse Chairman, Secretary Innocent Maimagani Zhattau, Iliya Maimagani, Hon Samson Bontu, Women Leader Hon. Mrs. Deyin Nenrotmwa, Treasurer Hon Garba Pankwal, Hon Doyakol Phillibus, Hon Monday Nyam Agiya, PRO Hon Dakom William.

On the location of the party office, he said they were previously located at “Angwan Rogo in Jos North local government of the state.

“During our meeting with the chairman of the party hon. Ishaya Itse suggested that we get a more spacious accommodation for the party office, secondly, considering the distance of Angwan Rogo office to the city center, also which informed relocating the party’s office to “Kalwa House” along Bukuru Road.

“Presently, all our members and the elected excos have their offices at Kalwa House and currently on the ground.

“On the expectation of the party members in the state, the chairman said he has directed the secretary of the party to officially write Governor Bako Lalong, members of the state legislatures, commissioners and chairmen of the 17 local governments to avail themselves to the Party’s office at Kalwa House.”

And strongly warned that any member or members of the party that disobeys this directive will face sanction as spelled out in the party constitution.

“We have a constitution guiding this party, and will abide by it as the law-abiding citizens of the state and the party.”

The chairman further added that as the authentic chairman of the party, empowered by the constitution, any members of the party who refuse to align themselves to authentic executives led by Ishaya Itse shall be expelled, suspended, or set up a disciplinary commission to investigate their disobedience with the view of disciplinary action.

He said what transpired on 16th Oct 2021 at the Crest Hotel Venue of the APC state Congresses is “Kangaroo” to say the obvious, he maintained.
