Hon Shehu I Hassan Eulogizes Lalong For Restoring Democracy In Jos North LGA After 20 Years

The former Member Representing Jos North, Bassa Federal Constituency,Hon Shehu Saleh Hassan has commended the Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong for deepening democracy in Nigeria by allowing the people of Jos North to express their franchise after 20 years of disenfranchised by the previous regimes.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote at Gangare of Jos North LGA on Saturday, Hassan said it is one of the greatest days in the history of politics in Nigeria that the people came out to participate actively in the voting exercise.
He said, we have been disenfranchised and denied but you see today Lalong demonstrated himself as a quality leader by letting voters use their voter’s card to elect someone of their choice.
We appreciate the government of APC under the leadership of our amicable rescue ambassador to write his name in the golden book of history, where Muslims and Christians came out to line up for Muslim candidate.
Hassan expressed confidence that now no more tribalism, religion, and ethnic politics, we saw that no crises, no attack the election was very peaceful in all the areas visited so this singular act had restored confidence in democracy.
However, with the pattern of overwhelming support witness, it has marked the end of imposition of candidates because we see the political journey is no longer vote on sentiment unlike before some session ate discriminated.
The people of Joseph North see Lalong as their messiah and trusted friend of the Hausa Fulani and true democrat whose name had been written in the world of African politics, he said.
He explained further that the peaceful conduct, display by the electorate on Saturday reflects true tenets of democracy where people shun all manner of division to overwhelming voice out for those they believe are trustworthy and credible.
Hassan stressed out that voters are gradually getting maturity in getting the right people to lead them not those that are building bridges of hatred and backwardness.
