Drama eschewed in Plateau State People Democratic Party, PDP, Chairmanship Congresses held on Monday across the seventeen Local Government Councils.
Our correspondent gathered that the two BOT members of the PDP, have turned the state structure into a money making venture of breaching the National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Security personnel set by the constitution to monitor and observe the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
It was gathered that based on security arrangement the former Deputy Senate President ,Sen.Ibrahim Mantu led faction boycotted the Monday screening exercise which was suspended by security arrangement on the grounds of Corona virus which recorded its first casualty in Abuja.
The former Governor Jonah David Jang faction went ahead to conduct the primaries for the PDP in the 17 LGAs in spite of the warning issued to each of the PDP group to stay clear pending the order coming from the appropriate body saddled with the responsibility of conducting the party’s Congresses to usher in responsible chairmen of the PDP in Plateau State.
However, the desperate Jang faction who couldn’t wait to witness a peaceful conduct of the exercise went on rampage to cause crisis and with list that were hand written to their choice of candidates.
The constitution of PDP gave room for the PDP card members to select those with credible records to elect those that would govern them for the period of 4 years in tenure
The current acting Chairman Yakubu Chocho immediately started to cry fault when he discovered that their choice of candidates were not popular in the PDP political progress of the forthcoming election.
The group in their usual characteristics manner began to blackmail Sen. Jeremiah Timbut Useni that he wasn’t the leader of the PDP in Plateau state.
The kangaroo Congress is a clear demonstration that what led to the failure of PDP in 2015 might likely repeat itself again if care is not taken by desperate politicians who are prepared to bring back hatred and division that led the killings of innocent citizens.
The lack of adherence to party ideology and political orderliness was responsible for the PDP losing Plateau state which is going to repeat in the 2023 because there is plot to bring back those whom they rejected them in 2015 polls.
The conduct of PDP wards, Chairmanship congress would either marred or destroy the PDP in Plateau state because some of the political pundits are spitting words of violence and confusion to the party.
Our medium gathered that just like opening fresh wounds to the public, five years down the road the PDP family are still walking toward the route of imposition , non-adherence to the PDP constitution.
