The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) irked over the delay on the implementation of the Thirty Thousand naira (N30, 000) new minimum wage of the Federal Government, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to as matter of national importance compelled State Governor’s to speed up the process for sake of civil servants and their dependents.
The six point communique issued at the end of NAWOJ National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of Zone D held on the August 29th 2019 at HUA Hotel Lafia, Nasarawa State says the speed up of the implementation of the N30, 000 minimum wage by Federal Government would go a long way in addressing the plight of civil servants in the country.
The meeting also make case for the inclusion of womenfolk into key positions in Nasarawa State, as NAWOJ commended Governor Sule for been a media friendly Governor.

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ), Zone D after deliberations on the state of the nation especially as it concerns the plight of women and children amongst other challenges inherent in the nation states as follows:-
(1) Acknowledges the fact that women and children as the most vulnerable people of the society are facing enormous challenges particularly as regards the unabated violence meted them to which the body therefore calls on government at all levels to take proactive steps to end violence against these vulnerable groups of people.
(2)The meeting while lamenting over the high rate of rape of minors including the menace of child labour consequently tasked the Federal Government to prevail on states yet to adopt the Child Rights Act to immediately adopt and implement it to help curb the menace of the rising crimes against women and children.
(3)The meeting also commended President Muhammadu Buhari over recent appointments of women in his cabinet even as it appeals for more opportunities to be given women in line with the 35%affirmative action.
(4)The meeting then expressed worry over the increasing rate of insecurity across the country and called on relevant agencies and stakeholders to take necessary measures towards ensuring adequate security of lives and property of citizenry.
(5)On the thirty thousand naira new minimum wage agreed by both the Federal Government and the Nigeria Lobour Congress, (NLC) but yet to be enjoyed by civil servants in the country, the meeting urged the Federal Government to speed up the implementation process in order to help alleviate the plight of civil servants.
(6)the meeting which commended the Nasarawa State Governor, Engr.Abdullahi Sule for being media friendly personality also made case for inclusion of women in his cabinet including other key appointments in the state.
