The newly appointed executive secretary Christian pilgrims board, Bauchi state Engineer Daniel Shawylu has urge Christian community in the state to not to relent in their effort to sponsor self for holy as a measure to compliment government efforts.
Engineer Daniel Shawulu, made the remark when he received the Women Leader of the APC in charge of the north east, Mrs Fatima Danjuma Maicibi who paid him a courtesy call in his office.
Engineer Daniel Shawulu said the shortfall of revenue in the state necessitated governments to change tactics in their spending by considering only projects that are of importance to the people.
The Executive Secretary who called on the management of various churches in the state to sponsor worshipers to go to the pilgrimage instead of total reliance on the state government, also called on the well to do Christians in the state to sponsor themselves for the pilgrimage.
He said the pilgrimage enables pilgrims to visit important historical places in the Christendom, hence the need to embark on the religious journey.
Engineer Shawulu called on Christians in the state to support the present administration to enable it take the state to greater heights.
Earlier, the North East APC Women Leader Mrs Fatima Danjuma Maicibi, who said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the Executive Secretary for his appointment, called on him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the state government.
Mrs. Fatima Maicibi commended Governor Muhammad Abubakar for the appointment and for his concern to the Christian community in the state.
She used the forum to assure their continued loyalty and support to the state government for the progress of the state.
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the state governor of Christian Affairs Mr Sale, commended women in the state for their support and cooperation to the present administration.
Mr. Sale called on Christians in the state to pray for Governor Muhammad Abubakar to enable him implement his good policies and programmes for the development of the state.
The Special Assistant reminded Christian parents on their responsibility of good upbringing to their wards to enable them contribute to the development of the state.
