The Ag. Chairman of Plateau State Chapter of the Nigeria Union Road Transport Workers,(NURTW), Alh. Auwalu Garba has described the Da Yakubu Dalyop stayed in office as illegal as he emphasize that the industrial court judgment against them was affirmed by the court of appeal which said that their action is null and void .
Garba made this known in an exclusive interview with our medium while responding to questions about the ember months period in Nigeria at his new office,” Silver Transport office ,”opposite Total filling station in Jos North LGA.
He said, the court had already made her pronouncement so whoever is calling himself or herself as the state chapter chairman is illegal because what the court did as the highest court of the land is to end in Appeal court this matter . Whenever you approach an industrial court then the last bus stop in the matter is that of court of appeal and it has affirmed the decision of the industrial court.
Auwalu Garba stated that by virtue of his continued stay in office after the judgment is illegal so whoever is parading himself apart from this group where I belong in is an illegal impostor because the appeal court had already declared that their action are null and void as they lack locus standing whatsoever.
He stressed that Da Yakubu Dalyop stay in office is illegal ,they are the real authentic members of the NUTRW in Plateau State. As Dalyop also laid claim to the office that no court case was service on him.
Auwalu maintained that the union is the 13 claimant in the judgment so we have the issue challenging the 36 offices of the NURTW across including Abuja and even after his election there was protest against him, so we boycotted his election ,and Dalyop also replied that there was no court judgment against him for now.
Garba disclosed that what happened is that the court had already delivered her judgment and there was enforcement.
According to him, the Dalyop group went to hire security agent to vandalize the office and forcefully entered inside so what we did was to go back to state high court 6 to seek the interpretation of the earlier judgment at hand.
He called on the major stakeholders in the transport sector in Nigeria on the need to maintain absolute obedience to the roads guideline .
As a union body responsible for the transportation of goods and services from one destination to another and outside Nigeria to maintain order .
We are professional drivers as we are approaching the ember months ,we are calling on the attention of our members and the entire road users to overlook many challenges despite the frustration on our major roads.
Auwalu lamented that with the current hardship in the country most especially those operators of road most be careful while making use of the roads and they should avoid overloading, overspeeding, and sleeping while driving.
We always enlighten our drivers on how to make use of the roads by given them adequate training and workshop on quarterly period as we are appealing to roads user to remain calm and focus more on successful journey for the 2025 hitch free exercise .
Garba reiterated that what affected the increase in PMS and LGO in the transport sector in Nigeria is when the price goes up transporters need to meet up with the demand by increasing their fair.
He noted that all we are saying is that they should maintain speed limit, traffic regulation because in the last three years when price of fuel pump remain no increase was made here Lagos State to Jos is 31,000 .
