67 Doctors Quit Nasarawa Service, 50 Others To Quit By December If Condition Of Service Is Not Improved

36NG-Doctors’-Strike-Lack-of-oxygen-causes-death-of-two-month-old-baby-01No fewer than 67 doctors has quit the service of Nasarawa state Government over what the Nigeria Medical Association referred to as non implementation of consolidated medical salary structure (CONMESS).

In a communiqué made available to selected Journalists by the state secretary, Attah Peter and the Public Relation Officer, Anazolo Michael respectively, the Association threatens a showdown if the state Government fails to fulfil their demands, The communiqué stated that no fewer 50 additional doctors are set to quit the service come December.

NMA staff are demanding for

1.The implementation of outstanding promotion

2.under payment of doctors

3.Imposition of heavy taxes on medical doctors/dentist in the service of the state Government.

4.Disparity in salaries of medical doctors/dentist.

5.Implementation of consolidated medical salary structure

The Association resolved to embark on 3 days warning strike which will be followed by indefinite strike, Nigeria Medical Association has given the state Government a week ultimatum to fulfilled their demand or risk industrial.

It would be recalled that the Association has earlier given the state Government a one week ultimatum.
