About 60% internally displaced children in Wase Local Government Area are malnourished an NGO Center for Empowerment Advocacy has said.
The organization also stated that Children in Wase Local Government Area have been begging for food and assistants from government and spirited individuals.
Wase LGA appeared to be among the highest hits of local governments malnourished within the 36 states of the federation, with high rate of malnourished children currently among the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps.
The Executive Director Centre for Empowerment and Advocacy in Nigeria ,Mary Omble Wuya raised alarm over the plight of internally displaced children who have been malnourished in Plateau state and its environs.
Wuya stated this during the NGO’s Courtesy visit to the Nigerian Union Journalists (NUJ), Plateau state council.
She called on the Plateau state government to take the issue of ranching very serious to help boost the dwindling economic fortune of the state.
According to the director, the Sectarian crisis which lasted for over 20 years has wreaked havoc on the State as many families have been displaced.
The chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists, Mr. Yakubu Taddy promised to partner with them to encourage transparency and objectivity.
He said, as practitioners we are prepared to promote the program of NGO for the development of Plateau state and its environment.
