The Adamawa state comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration service, Ubi Ikpi Nkanu says over 500 displaced Nigerians in Cameroun as a result of insurgency yesterday returned back to Nigeria.
Ikpi who ascribe the success to the good people of Cameroun and Chad who sheltered them when they most needed it, praised the sister organisations in those countries for a good working synergy.
“When the Government of Cameroon alerted us that a good number of Nigerians are in their country probably as a result of insurgency or any other thing that displaced them in the country, I made conscious effort to liaise with sister organisations which we have been having a cordial relationship with and the process went on well as they are safely brought back to Nigeria Yesterday” Ikpi said
He insist that Government and well meaning Nigeria should support the NIS in a mission they tagged ” Operation Flush” which is aimed at finding out illegal immigrants and expatriates who their visa residency has expired.
The comptroller added that there is a strong synergy between the various paramilitaries for the simple fact that, battle against terrorism cannot be left for only one body.
“It has to be a joint task with other sister bodies to win this battle against insurgency”. Nkanu added
