Experts say four children: Tochukwu, 14, Ifeanyichukwu, 11, Vivian and Marvelous, born by the same parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zebulun Onyia-Eburuo, may not live long because of a genetic condition inherited from their parents, known as muscular dystrophy.

Diagnosis reveal that the type, afflicting the children, is Duchane muscular dystrophy. Muscular dystrophy has several types, depending on the part of the body under siege.
The condition has no cure while research shows that sufferers die before they attain the age of 19 or 20 years. The very lucky ones may live up to 30 years. Read more



House Of Representatives Member Beaten By Constituents For The Second Time

For Honourable Auwalu Dahiru Saleh a member of the 7th National Assembly representing Katagum Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Sunday 28th April a day met his Waterloo as when he embarked on a journey to pay a condolence to his divorced wife over the death of her father Ciroman Katagum, a journey which later turned out to be sour for him.

As gathered by Universalreporters.info, as soon Hon, Auwalu arrive the family house of the divorced wife, members of his constituency descended on him as they began to beat him up.

As one of Nigeria’s richest businessmen, Otunba Mike Adenuga Jr. celebrated his 60th birthday; General Babangida took time to pass a message across. The message came in form of an advertorial in which he eulogized the Globacom boss for his loyalty. Governor Babangida Aliyu To Jonathan “You Can’t Clip Our Wings”

‘Anybody who thinks, whether at the party or presidential level, can clip the wings of the governors is wasting his time’
Behind the scenes tensions between some governors and President Jonathan blew open yesterday when the Niger State governor said there are moves at the “presidential level” to “clip the wings” of the governors but that such attempts would fail.
Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, who was speaking at an event in Minna, also said the major cause of the crisis in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was the effort to weaken the governors in the party.
The Nigeria Governors Forum, headed by Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, has been at loggerheads with PDP national chairman Bamanga Tukur who enjoys the support of President Jonathan. Read more


 UNIABUJA ASUU Begins Strike

The University of Abuja chapter of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) started a  two-week warning strike on Monday over the failure of government to implement a visitation panel report.

Dr Clement Chup, the Chairman, University of Abuja branch of ASUU, who disclosed this at a press conference, said Federal Government’s delay in implementing the white paper was not in the interest of the university.
He said the union’s resolution to embark on a two-week warning strike followed government’s failure to listen to the university’s longstanding complaints over governance crisis at the institution. Read more
