300 Secondary School Students Arrested For Cult Activities

No fewer than 300 students of a very popular secondary school (name withheld) in Ogwashi-Uku near Asaba, Delta State, have been arrested by the police in the area for cult-related activities.

Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, disclosed that they will be interrogated and assured that the police are poised to rid the state of all forms of criminal activities in the state.

The students, mostly male, were first apprehended by the school authority, who invited the police to intevene.

LEADERSHIP FRIDAY checks revealed that trouble began when a cult member, a girl, who was alleged to have been the queen of girl cultists in the school, had confided in another cult member, a male, about her bid to relinquish her position. But he refused her request, stating that she could only do so if she could find another girl to take her place.

Seeing as her chances of stepping down were slim, the girl, who is now on the run, lured her friend, another cult member, into the cultists’ meeting point, in a near-by bush. After abusing the embarrassed girl, the boys forced her to join their. Unfortunately, the girl left and reported the matter to the school authority, blowing the lid off the plan to initiate her.

“Following her information, the school authority got the identities of the persons involved, swung into action and apprehended them all. The police were invited into the matter and the boys handed over to them,” a source revealed.

While investigations are reportedly on, unconfirmed information revealed that the affected students have been expelled from the secondary school.
