The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has affirmed that the 275 women and children rescued from Sambisa were taken to an unknown destination by the Nigerian military.
The spokesperson of the Agency, Mallam Sani Datti, who intimate our correspondent on the latest development said the women and children were evacuated by the military from Malkohi camp in Yola to a destination which he refused to disclosed saying its purely a military affair.
Another reliable source who pleaded anonymity when contacted through a telephone call told newsmen in Yola that the affected IDPs were evacuated on the orders of the office of the National Security Adviser to unknown destination for psycotraumatic therapy.
The source said that the IDPs were taken in buses by the military to Yola Airport where the boarded a military plane to unknown destination.
“They did not tell us where they are taking them to, saying it is purely a military affair”, the source said.
Effort to get the military to comment on the matter proved abortive as calls made to the 23rd Amour Brigade Yola Public Relations Officer, Capt Nuhu Jaafar, to speak on the development did not go through.
It can be recalled that the 275 women and children who were rescued from the dreaded Boko Haram bounds in Sambisa forest by the military were brought to Malkohi camp in Yola on May 2nd 2015.
