24 Families Diagnosed With Strange Illnesses In Plateau By Yakubu Ventim

Plateau state government has  diagnosed  24 families with  strange affliction  in Jengre  suburb of Bassa Local Government Area also debunk dead toll rise to eleven from cholera infection.


The commissioner for information and communication Hon Yiljap Abraham confirmed this to our correspondent in his office in Jos.


The commissioner disclosed that 24 patients are  on admission with difference affiliation   yet to be identify by doctors which none of the victims is diagnosed with symptoms of cholera  there’s no record of dead confirm by the doctors from plateau special hospital who were deploy to undertake thorough research and  treatment in all the 17 local Government councils.


Yiljap Abraham explained that government visit traditional leadership and SDA hospital were the victims are on admission in Jibape hospital and primary Health care centre ,Jengre and Angwan Mission all in Jengre of Bassa LGAs that some patients who were discharge two weeks were cross check.

Abraham appealed to journalists to always verify and confirm the case of sickness before going to press so doing it will not scare away investors coming into the state.


He added that as peace is gradually returning we shouldn’t over blown the situation with sensizational reports but to give the state the necessary report.


Yiljap Abraham also cautioned the style of report by media that plateau state is not among the list of states afflicted with cholera disease expressing concern over outbreak of the disease in Quaan pan Local Government Area was as a result poor sanitary system.

He said,the number of people affected by cholera were 11 not 36 that is been reported on the media Governor Jonah Jang has released 22million for the purchase of relief materials and foodstuff for the IDP in Namu

Abraham assured the good people of the state that intense disease surveillance is going on in all the 17 Local government areas and resources and personnel have been placed on standby to respond appropriately.


He advised that, there’s need for our people to observe basic hygiene, keep away from unsafe water sources, fruits and vegetables which sources are uncertain people should wash their hands and keep flies as a way of promoting greater health.
