2023: Jigawa PDP Stakeholders Seek Mustapha Lamido  To Contest For Governorship

The PDP forum of former local government chairmen under the People Democratic Party in Jigawa state has called on Mustapha Sule Lamido to come and join the race for him to pick a gubernatorial ticket for the 2023/general election.

The group made the call in a communiqué issued during their extraordinary meeting held at Gumel Foundation emirate.

The communiqué was read by the Secretary of the forum and also the former chairman  Yankwashi local government Hon. Musa Abdullahi Karkarna said 22 out of the 27 local government chairmen served under the PDP attended the meeting and they all agreed on the resolution.

He explained that the group has critically examined the situation Jigawa state found itself in today, the state is struggling with serious social and economic challenges as well as infrastructure decay, the problem which required a competent, and strong person with a strong mind and listing ears to fix it.

The group maintained that the potentiality require from a person that can confront the task of fixing Jigawa state they have identified it with Dr. Mustapha Sule Lamido.

” Mustapha Sule Lamido is Well educated and has a strong mind of confronting difficult judgment at a difficult time and above all, he is very sincere and obedient party member,  So we believed he can do the Job”

In view of the foregoing, we are calling on this intellectual youth and gentleman in the person of Mustapha Lamido to come out and contest for the gubernatorial ticket of our great party PDP for a rescue mission ” the group said.

They, however, promised to go around the state to mobilize more people, particularly PDP members to join the group to beg or mount pressure on Lamido to accept their request.

Mustapha Sule Lamido was the former PDP senatorial candidate for Jigawa central zone during the 2019 general election and he is the son of former Jigawa state Governor and one of the PDP founding fathers Alhaji Sule Lamido.
