Muhammad Adam Alkali has been declared the winner of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), primary election for the position of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.
Alkali was Friday, evening returned unopposed having his other contender Muhammad Sakisu, willingly withdrew from the contest.
The national assistant secretary of the party Abdulmajed Lawal, led party delegates to vote before the formal declaration.
“Based on the powers vested in me by the constitution of the PRP, I hereby declared that Muhammad Adam Alkali, having scored 145 votes, and having satisfied the requirements, as the winner of the election.
In his remarks, Muhammad Alkali, expressed delight that he was declared as the winner of the primary.
“We are pursuing our mandate of the February 26, 2022 bye-election at the election tribunal, I am assuring you that we will regain our mandate,” he said.
Alkali appealed to those that lost out in any of the position contests to stay back and support the party to victory.
