Hundreds of elderly men from across the 27 LGA’s,(305 wards) of Imo State who gathered under the aegis of “Ugwumba Elders Council” in Owerri on Wed.Nov.28th 2018,have vehemently reaffirmed their unalloyed support to ensure that Hon. Uche Nwosu, becomes Governor Rochas Okorocha’s successor,come 2019.
In a communique signed by all the Leaders and Executive members of the Council and released to the media shortly after their crucial meeting held at the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign Secretariat behind Rockview Hotels Owerri, anonymously and collectively reaffirmed their support to ensure that the immediate past Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Uche Nwosu (Ugwumba), who is also the son-in-law to Rochas Okorocha is elected as Governor.
The State Chairman of Ugwumba Elders Council, High Chief Obed Chikereuba ( Ide Orlu),expressed regret over what he described as high level of injustice melted on Hon.Nwosu by the undemocratic actions of the National Chairman of APC, Comr. Adams Oshimole, whom he alleged that he denied Nwosu the governorship ticket as the winner of the APC primaries held on Oct.6th 2018.
Reading out the communique, the Vice Chairman of the Ugwumba Elders Council, Chief Dr. D.C.Egere, ksc, said “following the murky waters of APC incessant changes of Governorship candidates and ensuing court actions, the Council borrowing from previously political experience in the court on such subjects matters unanimously resolved to strongly recommended that Nwosu due to his credibility, transparency and sagacity as a youth,tested and trusted from the beginning of the Rescue Mission led administration moves to a new/virgin political party to actualize his political vision and mandate being our Governor,come 2019″,Vice Chairman submitted.
“As far as I am concerned, Hope Uzodinma is characterized with scam and fraud” says Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign Organization Director General, High Chief Chidi Ibeh. He does not have the interest of the Imolites at heart and he cannot deliver. Therefore, I am calling on all Imolites to join Nwosu to party he has chosen”.
