2019 Election Summit Set For 8th Feb. :Imo Youths Vow Never To Be Involved On Thuggery

Some cross sections of youths in Imo State under the aegis of “United Imo Youth Movement,UIYM”, a known formidable youth organisation in Imo State,have in collaboration with other relevant youth organizations in the state officially invited all and sundry from the state and beyond to a one-day youth summit with the theme:”Combating Electoral Thuggery  and Vote Buying in the Imo State During  2019 General Elections”.

The Imo State President of UIYM,Comr.Chinonso Nkemaka Nwaiwu, aka Mayor,expressed delight to welcome the youths of the state for the upcoming programme,which would be taken place on Feb.8th 2019 in Owerri.

The President therefore called appealed to all renowned political scientists, security consultants and religious leaders honor his  invitation to give lectures on the need to reposition the mindset of the youths during election period.

The President of the Association, Comr. Nwaiwu,disclosed that over 2000 youths from across various youth bodies will be in attendance to conducting an insightful summit on electoral violence.

He said “in the light of the above,we are humbly appeal to you to either sponsor or assist us financially to enable Imo youth realize this epoch event”.

He expressed optimism that the budget which would be presented by the committee set up for summit,will be a total sum of N4.5  million,as expected will be needed to realize it.

He thanked in advance all the youths of  Imo State and  some other youths organizations from outside the state for their prompt and kind hopeful response,even as he called for the acceptance of his invitation.

Adding his voice, the Chairman of Coalition of Imo Youth Bodies,Comr.Obinna Onuoha,also expressed hopefulness on the success of the seminar.

He called on the youths not to be used by politicians in election thuggery,especially now the 2019 polls are drawing closer.
