1446 AH (2025) Eid-El-Fitr Felicitates With The Nigerian Muslim Ummah

The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) extends its warmest felicitations to the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and the world, over the completion of the 2025 Ramadan fasting and the observance of the Eid-el-Fitr. May this joyous occasion be a time of joy, deeper reflections of our actions and inactions, stability, peace and blessings to all Muslims and our respective families, as well as our loved ones. May Allah, the Most High, accept all our fasting and overlook our shortcomings therein. May He also accept our respective supplications and good deeds during Ramadan, and may He continue to shower His grace upon us in the days and months ahead. Aamin.

To sustain the virtues of Ramadan, we should try to maintain the same spiritual routine after the month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, Muslims fasted from dawn till dusk, abstaining from food, drink, and other worldly desires and focused on spiritual growth, and other acts of worship. However, the virtues of Ramadan should not just end with the month. As we relish in Eid celebration, JNI reminds the Muslims not to forget the Sitta-Shawwal fasting, i.e. the six days fasting after Ramadan fasting, as was recommended by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).We must always bear in mind that the Lord of Ramadan, is still and shall remain the Lord of other months, thus we should be very conscious of Him at all times. Therefore, we should be reminded to keep to the ordinances of the Glorious Qur’an, for the prestige of the Muslim Ummah. More importantly, we should continue to strive to seek knowledge. Indeed Ramadan is an excellent time for seeking knowledge and learning about Islam, same tempo and enthusiasm should continue even after the month of Ramadan.

Last but not the least, The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, JNI acknowledges and appreciates the efforts so far put in place by the Kano State Government and the security agencies in restraining reprisal attacks in Kano State. The Kano Emirate is also appreciated for cancelling its durbar to avert taking advantage of it. While we are following unfolding events in Edo State and also appreciates steps so far taken by the Edo State Government over the 16 murdered Uromi victims, we strongly call on the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) and the Edo State Government to pay blood money (Diyya) to the bereaved families of the massacred Uromi victims, for equity, social justice and foreclosing of any acts of discontent.

The JNI wishes all Muslims an accepted Ramadan fast, a very happy and blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Prof. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu

Secretary-General, JNI
