Yuguda Will Honour EFCC Invitation Any Time-Ex Commissioner

A former Commissioner of Information to the immediate past Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda Alhaji Salisu Barau has described as baseless the  petition against Yuguda circulating through the media linking the former governor  as being investigated by  the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

He added that there is no truth that former Governor Yuguda allegedly spent the sum of N7 billion security votes as a mere campaign to dent the good image of the former Governor who meritoriously served the state for 8 years during when he developed the state to an enviable one.

Salisu Barau while addressing newsmen in Bauchi explained that whatever amount the former administration spent was duly appropriated and approved by the State Executive Council and the State House of Assembly and was accordingly spent based on what was budgeted for, as laid down by the laws of the country.

Barau said “Yuguda secured so many projects and funds that matured during the present administration but the administration refused to give him the credit and sat on it and claimed the success among the funds , realized included 50bn education funds from World Bank which was released to the three states Bauchi Anambra and Ekiti because of their track record on education,, 70bn agricultural loan which was released to the State with the support of former Minister of finance Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Owela, and there are liquid cash of N200 million secured by Mallam Isa Yuguda for Yankari Power which is waiting for the state government to lower its head and that the electricity that will be generated by the company is by far what the state would require. The access would be sold to national grid and the money realized would be use to pay the loan”.

On security issue, Security has no price, the question of 7bn the present Governor was talking about does not arise, the Isa Yuguda administration paid adequate attention to issues of security of lives and properties of the all the citizens of the state in collaboration with all the security agencies in the state details of which cannot be discussed on the pages of newspapers.

Ex Commissioner said the issue of joint account raised ,” Joint account between was established by the law at the ratio of 60, 40 between them and the money was meant to tackle security problems in the State and other pressing issues and needs for development, it was not an act of Mallam Isa Yuguda it was in practice all over the federation, And our state remained the safest and well secured state in the North-Eastern sub-region of the country in spite of the various acts of insurgency in the region and communal clashes from neighboring states we have the fragile peace t of which the present administration in enjoying.

He said “ICPC and EFCC whom were asked to investigate Yuguda, the agencies was established to ensure good governance ;probity and accountability and Yuguda is an act of good governance and accountability, and he is a very law abiding citizen and I am sure whenever he is invited to go and clarify issues he will go and do that , and we believe the outfits will do justice to all citizens of the country based on rules and regulations that establish them.
