11 Players Quit Nasarawa United Football Club Of Lafia

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Bamaiyi Anangba has revealed that 11 players from Nasarawa United Football club of Lafia have quit the State team.

The commissioner stated this during a briefing with members of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria.

He listed some of the setbacks of the ministry to include the backlog of unearned bonuses yet to be paid to athletes and officials.

“We borrowed money to the tune of N11.830, 000 from other sources to pay for matches, though we lost 11 matches”.

Hon.Bamaiyi Anangba debunked the rumour making rounds that disqualification of some athletes in handball, hockey, basketball, volleyball, karate and other games was due to over age.

Impeccable source has revealed that three athletes in Taekwando were disqualified from the ongoing games.
