104,000 Personnel Employed To Conduct Trial Census In Jigawa

A total number of 104,000 persons which include facilitators, supervisors, and enumerators were drawn mainly from various communities within the selected areas of the state for trial census through online recruitment in Jigawa state.

This was disclosed by the state director National population commission Alhaji Ibrahim Iro Ahmed in a press release, released to the media.

The director said the trial census is to be conducted between 11 July to 24 July and the house Numbering will take place from 11th to 16th July will be followed by validation of the Enumeration area framework from 17th  to 19th  July in which Enumeration of persons will take place from 20th  to 24th of July.

The trial census is to evaluate all aspects of the census operations before the main census on a limited scale, the specific objective is to assess the quality of the EA maps and determine the requisite educational qualification for enumerators estimated.

The director stated that the Jigawa state office of the National population commission has commenced the state-level training workshop for field personnel who are to be engaged for trial census from Monday 27 for a 12-day training which is taking place at a new secretariat old hall Dutse Jigawa state .

The participants were drawn from local government areas which include Birnin Kudu, Dutse,Miga,Hadejia, Malam Madori, Birniwa ,Maigatari, Babura, and Kazaure the participants will be equipped with skills to effectively and efficiently deliver on the exercise. 

The director clearly stated that the trial census will be conducted in one supervisory area in 9 local Government areas of the state with three LGAs selected in each of the three Senatorial districts.

The LGAs that will be covered are Birnin Kudu, Dutse,Miga, in Senatorial Districts  A while for Senatorial Districts B are Hadejia,Malam Madori,Birniwa and for Northwest Senatorial districts include Kazaure ,Maigatari, Babura.

While declaring the workshop open the federal commissioner NPC Jigawa state office Alhaji Garba A G Zakar reiterated the commitment of the present commission to make the 2023 census a resounding success through the adoption of technological innovations at every stage of the process.
