About 10 cows including 15 Sheep belonging to Fulani herdsmen were crushed to death following accident involving a vehicle made of J-5 in the wee hours of yesterday.
The incident which occurred along Bauchi- Tafawa-Balea road was said to have caused gridlock to motorist and passers-by desperate to rescue the victims of the accident.
It was gathered that the cause of the accident is not unconnected to over speeding of the driver while approaching the cows crossing the high-way
Eye witness said, in an attempt by the driver to control the vehicle, he lost control and left him without any option than to crushed the animals to death
It was noted that, the vehicle later somersaulted under the bridge injuring three occupants while the vehicle damaged beyond recognition
When universalreporters247.com visited the scene, it was reported that the vehicle was fully loaded with fertilizer heading to an undisclosed destination.
It took the intervention of sympathizers to slaughter the cows including the sheep while the Fulani man look helplessly and rolling profusely on the ground.
An attempt to speak with one of the police constable who had come for rescue failed as he referred journalists to the Bauchi state police command spokesman
