Being the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government, he recently distributed 7 Bajaj motorcycles to enhance daily patrol of kidnapping and banditry-prone areas, Honorable Jonathan Okuba Addra was able to built a new police outpost in Akpanaja community which was ready for commissioning.
Giving of N20,000,000m Loan To 200 Fisher Women
The Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government, Honorable Jonathan Okuba Addra in a bid to empowered the womenfolk especially Fisher women whose businesses was affected due to the decision of the State Deputy Governor to ban fishing in Doma Dam.
It could be recalled that the State Government ban fishing in Doma Dam, housing 8 fishing communities as well as restocked chunks of fish in the dam whose fish have depleted over times.
The Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency and the authority of Doma Local Government gave out N100,000 each to 200 women while the NSHCDA dole out four power tillers to the eight communities, four irrigation machines with horse, herbicide, liquid fertilizer, improved variety of tomatoes, Onions, Garbage, Water Melon, Okro, Green Leaves and new improved seedling of rice to fishermen.
The State Deputy Governor, during the distribution of the facilities and cash, said the farming implements to men and cash to women were to provide an alternative way, with a ban on fishing in Doma Dam
The Director General of NSHCDA,Hajiya Halima Suleiman in her address, informed the beneficiaries of N20,000,000m cash that they would commence the payment of their loan after two two-month breaks.
