1 Game, Borno Government To Collaborate On Education

The 1 GAME campaign has said it would partner Borno State Government in the execution of some of its laudable educational programmes earmarked for the benefits of the populace.
Agafi Kunduli, Project Development Coordinator, 1 GAME campaign, disclosed the stand of the organization during a meeting in Maiduguri with the State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Inuwa Musa Kubo, stating that 1 GAME is firmly rooted to offer a platform to enhance primary school enrolment as well as support the state in its educational programmes.

Kunduli mentioned that during its visit to the state, 1 GAME had seen firsthand, the efforts of government in improving education but such inputs require the synergy of policy makers, non governmental agencies, international agencies and the civil society, in order to achieve laudable results.
Later on, Alhaji Kubo commended the 1 GAME campaign for embarking on the visit as the expectation of the state is high and hoped the organization will play its role to contribute to the development of the educational sector in Borno State, explaining that the state had recently built a strong relationship with 1 GAME and hoped the visit would strengthen the relation.
Alhaji Kubo promised that the State Government will partner 1 GAME in the overall interest of the state.
Later on Saturday, at a meeting with elders and residents of Bama-GRA communities that had representatives of 1 GAME in attendance, Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima said that his Government will start paying all parents from the Northern part of the state that will enroll their children in school to acquire Western education.
The Governor also said that all the schools burnt down by terrorists, which stood at over 800 classroom blocks, would be renovated.
According to him, the increasing case of poverty orchestrated by lack of access to education led to the insecurity in the state.
School enrolment in Borno State is the lowest in the country with only 28% of school age children attending primary school.
